Evaluation Publications and Journals

Evaluative Practice

Formerly ‘The Evaluator’, our in-house member only publication became known as ‘Evaluative Practice’ in November 2023. The name change signalled a shift in emphasis to widen the potential appeal of the publication to include areas of practice which have an evaluative dimension, but where practitioners may not ‘self-identify’ as an evaluator.

It continues to include a wide range of contributions from the evaluative world and embody aspects of practice that are essentially evaluative in nature. It has contributions which theorise practice, give creative examples of innovative approaches and evaluation use, connect evaluation with policy and include provocative ‘think-pieces’. Topics include a range of different tools and approaches and experience in a variety of contexts and sectors.

We produce 1-2 issues per year. Past issues available without membership:

Members and non-Members may contribute to Evaluative Practice and we invite you to submit material across all areas of interest in the evaluative domain, at any time. These may include think pieces, your experience of an aspect of evaluative practice, a particular method, or your examples of particular approaches. Articles should be a maximum of 1,500 – 2,000 words. For more information, email hello@evaluation.org.uk Attn: Editor, Evaluative Practice.
