Seeking an expert to express interest in doing a rapid review
Closing date: 17/4/17
Recruiter: World Dementia Council
Description: Seeking an expert to express interest in doing a rapid review
Invitation to tender
The World Dementia Council is looking for an evaluator to review our approach to evaluation. We are expecting a rapid and brief review to be completed before the end of April.
The World Dementia Council (WDC) is an international charity. It consists of 24 senior experts and leaders drawn from research, academia, industry and NGOs in both high income and low and middle income countries and includes two senior leaders with a personal dementia diagnosis. WDC stimulates innovation and identifies and pursues priority opportunities for global collaboration against dementia.
As part of a broader 2016-17 grant agreement with the UK Department of Health, we committed to establish an evaluation framework for our priority actions. We have commissioned this evaluation, and are looking forward to receiving it shortly.
Because we don’t yet have an evaluation framework, we agreed to seek a formal review from an appropriate expert to provide assurance of each element of the work. We therefore wish to commission an evaluation of our approach to evaluation.
We believe that this can be done within one-two day’s work, including a face-to-face or skype meeting with our Director, Mike Hobday, who is available to discuss expressions of interest on 07767 871 945.
We will judge tenders, to be received by midnight on Monday 17 April based on:
- Experience in charity evaluation, preferably in a health, research or international field;
- Experience of mixed method approaches to evaluation, including the question of attributing credit in a multi-stakeholder environment;
- Reputation of evaluator, with consequent credibility to the UK Department of Health;
- Cost of the tender and value for charitable funds.
